I want to draw.
I want to draw your house. Or your school. Or business, wedding venue, pub, or other special location. I want to draw and colour by hand, with no digital interventions, with high quality materials, with care and attention to detail. I am not a free spirit. I use an eraser. Because I want to get stuff just so.
I want to draw a picture for you. A picture to hang in your child's nursery or bedroom, including their name and their favourite animals. Or construction vehicles. Or aliens, fairies, steam trains, dinosaurs or other special theme. I want to personalise it and customise it and make it unique and just the way you want it.
I want to draw in a funky urban style, with quirk and character. I want to print my designs on cards, mugs, fabric, necklaces, socks and teapots. Or flowerpots. Or door knobs, picture frames, cushions and fridge magnets.
I don't want to create digitally remastered perfection. I value the hallmarks of human endeavour and spit in the eye of industrial uniformity. I don't like art that utilises electricity in its creation.* I like the complexity of a line drawn with a dip pen and viscous, jet-black India ink. I like the translucency of artist's quality professional Winsor & Newton watercolours, the vibrancy of acrylics on heavy 300gsm cold pressed, acid-free card, the intermingling of Letraset Promarkers as the intense colours blend. So these are the tools of my trade. Each piece represents many hours of work and numerous glasses of wine.
But enough about me. What do you like? What do you want?
